The Message Board has been changed again to revert back to a simpler, easier to use format that does not require users to be logged in before posting messages. It is hoped that this will enable more people to post messages than had been doing so in the last few months.

The new design of the website went "live" on 1st July 2012 - we hope you continue to find the site a useful aid to your family history research.
Please remember that you need to register in order to post on the Messages Forum and to log-in to the Members' Area.
The recent change in hosting companies went fairly smoothly, though there are still a couple of issues to be resolved. The Members' Area is now available but is still being updated.
The website has required a great deal of work by our website "guru" Ian Myers, using 'Joomla' Open Source Content Management Software.
The Executive of the ODFHS are now able to directly update the site. This will enable us to keep members fully up-to-date.
In many sections you will find it is possible to directly post onto the site.
To increase the value to paid-up members, we have introduced a section for 'Members only'. This section is a project that all members can be involved with. Members are certainly requested to put comments that will improve this entire site & provide them with what they need.
The Executive's only involvement will be to ensure that the content posted is not offensive to the membership.
